Trunk struts recently crapped out of their assembly and luckily didn't damage the hinge. The clip provided backed out and allowed the strut to pivot around and while closing it, I didn't pay attention the top mount of the strut cracked with a metallic pop. Today I pulled out the strut and decided to do the fuel door actuator while at it.
The part came from an e39 so I had to swap the brackets. Almost all bmw of that era use the same actuator part number.
More zipties for to replace old broken clips for the mean time. The fan clutch and blade is a recent repair since the e38 sounded like a International Bus on takeoff and warm up. The bmw oem sticker on the fan blade adds 20+ hp and resale value.....lol resale value on 7 series. There is still things to like replace cracked coils, valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket, oil change, transmission fluid change and pretty much everything. If anyone knows a bmw specific junkyard in the PA,NJ, NY area please comment. Thanks for reading!
